About Kerala Soaps
Kerala Soaps is a distinguished division of Kerala State Industrial Enterprises Limited (KSIE) who is an indispensable facilitator in the realm of air and marine cargo import-export services. The legacy of Kerala Soaps traces its origins to 1914, when the British established the "The Kerala Soap Institute." Renowned as Asia's leading soap manufacturing and training center, it has been an integral part of Kozhikode, a city with a rich history in spice trade and as an ancient bustling port. Embodying heritage and craftsmanship, Kerala Soaps, upholds a tradition of superior quality and customer satisfaction across generations. What began as a soap training institute evolved into a full-fledged company under the Company’s Act in 1963. A pivotal moment came in 1964 with the Government of Kerala's takeover, birthing Kerala Soaps and Oils Ltd. In 1976, a significant expansion using cutting-edge Italian machinery propelled Kerala Soaps into a new era, elevating production capacity and fostering innovation. In 2010, Kerala State Industrial Enterprises revived the soap manufacturing unit in Vellayil, Calicut, as "Kerala Soaps," aiming to revive beloved soap brands with top-notch quality at affordable prices. The soap range—Kerala Sandal, Thrill, Vep, Kairali, Kerala Sandal Carbolic Soap, and the acclaimed Washwell—are testaments to excellence. Notably, Kerala Sandal owes its quality to sandalwood oil from the Marayoor sandalwood forest in the Western Ghats. Crafted meticulously, these soaps have gained recognition domestically and internationally for their quality. Modern automation and strict quality standards in production ensure high-quality offerings, emphasizing pure vegetable oil in premium products. Kerala Soaps maintains a nationwide distribution network and robust marketing, prioritizing timely delivery and customer satisfaction. As they progress, Kerala Soaps remains committed to tradition, excellence, and enriching lives with every soap bar crafted.
